The Peterborough region encompasses the administrative boundaries of Peterborough City Council and its surrounding hinterland covers Cambridgeshire, East Northamptonshire, Huntingdonshire, Norfolk and South Lincolnshire.
The wider sub-region embraces a number of market towns ranging in population from 9,000 to 21,000. These include Bourne, Market Deeping, Ramsey, Spalding and Stamford. Despite the urban and rural contrasts in the sub-region, there is a great deal of similarity in the challenges faced by communities in the city and its rural hinterland. The Sub-Regional Economic Strategy sets out the strategic priorities identified by the Peterborough Regional Economic Partnership and how the Partnership will address those priorities. The strategy is coherent with the Greater Peterborough Partnership's
Community Strategy.
